“After 50 Years, NASA Follows India’s Moon South Pole Landing for Its Mission,” says Mylswamy Annadurai at AM Jain College 50th Graduation Day

Chennai, April 18, 2026: A.M. Jain College celebrated a significant academic milestone as it hosted its 50th Graduation Day Ceremony for the self-financed stream, with 1,461 students graduating across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The event also honoured academic excellence, with 34 students securing university ranks within the top 10 of the 2024 batch.

The convocation, conducted over two days (April 17 and 18) in three sessions, brought together students, faculty, alumni, and families in a grand celebration of achievement. The ceremony was graced by eminent dignitaries including Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai, former Director of the ISRO Satellite Centre, who presented degrees to the graduating students. Other chief guests included Justice Hari Parnthaman, former Puisne Judge of the Madras High Court and an alumnus of the college, and Kumar Rajagopalan, Vice President – Strategic Initiatives & Head of Operations at Dexian and also an alumnus.

Senior members of the college administration, including Secretary Udhan Kumar Chordia, Associate Secretary Hemant P. Chordia, Dean Dr. M. M. Ramya, Vice Principal Dr. M. Ananthanarayanan, and Deputy Dean Dr. R. Surekha, were present during the ceremony.

The graduating cohort represented a diverse academic spectrum, spanning disciplines such as criminology, public administration, commerce and finance, computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, visual communication, and tourism studies. Postgraduate programmes included advanced studies in computer science, visual communication, and tourism and travel management, reflecting the institution’s multidisciplinary approach.

Addressing the students, Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to pursue innovation with purpose. He urged them to remain curious, dream big, and contribute meaningfully to society, emphasising that success lies beyond personal achievements.

In his address, Associate Secretary Hemant P. Chordia highlighted the college’s efforts to bridge academia and industry through strategic collaborations and training initiatives. He noted that structured soft skills programmes and industry-linked opportunities equip students with the professional competencies required to succeed in a competitive environment.

Established in 1952, A.M. Jain College has built a strong academic legacy in Tamil Nadu, with a continued focus on quality education, industry alignment, and holistic student development. In addition to its self-financed programmes, the institution also offers government-aided courses across commerce, science, and humanities, ensuring wider access to higher education.

The campus is equipped with modern facilities including smart classrooms, a fully automated library, extensive computer laboratories, and an international-standard cricket ground, supporting both academic pursuits and extracurricular excellence.
