Doctors Report 70% Fall in Breast Cancer Patients Seeking Treatment in Covid Times || Cancer Specialists at Meenakshi Mission Hospital

Delayed treatment has a serious impact on morbidity and mortality of breast cancer patients; Only 35% of breast cancer patients in the country get diagnosed in stages I or II, the rest in advanced stages; MADURAI / 20 October, 2020 – Cancer Specialists at Meenakshi Mission Hospital have said the number of breast cancer patients seeking treatment has declined by as much as 70 percent in the last five months as people avoided visiting healthcare facilities fearing the Covid infection or were unable to come to a hospital due to lack of public transport.
