Chennais Amirta Aviation College Partners with Malaysia’s UniCAM for Global Training

Chennai, April 8, 2026: Chennais Amirta International Aviation College has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with University College of Aviation Malaysia to provide international training opportunities and enhance global exposure for its students. The agreement was formalised in Chennai by R. Boomee Nathan, Chairman of Chennais Amirta Group of Institutions, and Umar Abdillah Anwar, Dean of UniCAM, in the presence of senior representatives from Future Dream Academy Malaysia and the college’s academic leadership. As part of the collaboration, a four-day international training programme is being conducted from April 6 to 9, featuring global aviation experts and UniCAM alumni. Gem Hospital performs India’s First Dual-Console Robotic Telesurgery connecting Chennai and Gujarat

Chennai, April 8, 2026: GEM Hospital has achieved a significant medical milestone by successfully performing India’s first dual-console long-distance robotic telesurgery, connecting Chennai and Vapi, nearly 1,500 kilometres apart. The complex procedure was carried out on a 23-year-old patient using the Mizzo Endo 4000 robotic system developed by Meril Life Sciences. The surgery was led remotely by Dr. P. Senthilnathan from Gujarat, while a supporting surgical team operated alongside the patient in Chennai. Chennai, April 8, 2026: Vodafone Idea (Vi) has launched its 5G services in Chennai, marking a significant step in its efforts to expand high-speed connectivity across India. With this rollout, Chennai joins the list of metro cities where Vi 5G is now available, including Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru and Kolkata, along with over 50 other cities nationwide.
