HelpAge India honours Older Persons on International Day Of Older Persons
Chennai, October 1st, 2024: The United Nations has declared 1st October as the International Day of Older Persons (IDOP). To commemorate this day, HelpAge India organized a daylong event on 1st October 2024 (Tuesday) at the Kuchalambal Kalyana Mahal, Chetpet, Chennai from 10.00 am to 03.00 pm. The event started with the Inaugural program at 10.00 am. Hon'ble Mr.Justice S.Rajeswaran (Former Judge - Madras High court) was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the celebrations. He also felicitated the Senior Citizens Associations. Mr. Udaya Shankar (National Lead - Nasscom - Govt. Realtions & Skills initiatives and Co-founder & Trustee Maatram Foundation) was the Guest of Honor and Honour Elders Helpline Volunteers. Dr.T.C.Perumal (Secretary- Maharishi Vidya Mandir Group of Schools) was the Special Guest and greeted the Nonagenarian.
