The Miracle baby who wouldn’t be here without Apollo Children’s Hospitals Doctors and Nurses

  Baby Nethran was born pre-term at 8 months of pregnancy. He was diagnosed antenatally to have hole in his heart Chennai, 6 th August, 2019: Gayatri a resident from Tambaram, Chennai delivered a pre-term boy baby at Apollo Children’s Hospital in November 2018 . Little did she know that the baby would have to fight to keep alive. Baby Nethran was first diagnosed with a hole in the heart followed by sepsis, recurrent lung collapses, rare cancerous tumour in the Liver and abnormal fusion of his skull bones. Dr. Latha Kanchi Parthasarathy, Consultant Neonatologist, Apollo Children’s Hospitals along with her team played a crucial role in Nethran’s care through a eight month battle. Nethran underwent a series of procedures and chemotherapy at the Apollo Children’s Hospital throughout his treatment period. Chennai : The sixteenth annual function of the Kuruvila Jacob Initiative for promoting excellence in schools brought together teachers, principals and students of the educationalist from Madras Christian College High School where he was the headmaster from 1931 to 1962. Murali, seated G Shankar, S Viji, VK Chandrakumar An initiative taken to honour this great educationist and humanist on his birth centenary in 2004 resulted in the Kuruvilla Jacob Initiative for Promoting Excellence in School Education. Till date 2900 teachers have participated in this initiative since its foundation in August 2004. All his students who are today well known industrialists/citizens of Chennai remembered Kuruvila Jacob fondly and echoed in a same tone that some of his values and ideas were far ahead of his time and are more relevant today and that we have a sense of satisfaction that the program has reached around 3,000 educators and we have been abl...
