Young Hands Unite for Energy Conservation at POWERGRID’s Painting Competition; Empowering the Next Generation Through Art
Chennai, November 21, 2025: As part of the national campaign on energy conservation, the Ministry of Power, in collaboration with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and POWERGRID Corporation of India Ltd., organised a state-level painting competition for school students in Tamil Nadu. More than 40,000 students participated across the state, reflecting strong enthusiasm for spreading awareness on saving energy. The valedictory event took place at the Anna University campus, Chennai, with Dr. P. Hariharan, Dean, College of Engineering, Guindy, as Chief Guest and Dr. R. Saravanan, Head of Mechanical Engineering, Anna University, as Guest of Honour. Welcoming the gathering, Mr. M. M. Jeyaseelan, Sr. DGM, POWERGRID and Nodal Officer for the competition, highlighted the importance of engaging young minds in energy conservation and reaffirmed POWERGRID’s commitment to supporting BEE’s mission.
