Inauguration of Chennai Kodingaiyur Sewage Treatment Plant

Minister SP Velumani drinks recycled sewage water to create awareness Minister led by example, in the presence of Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy Chennai, Oct 1: Minster SP Velumani left the audience impressed when he drank the recycled water that was purified at the newly inaugurated sewage treatment plant in Kodingaiyur. He had consumed the water in order to show that recycled water is not harmful for health. The Government of Tamil Nadu had planned to set up sewage water treatment plants in four different places in Chennai – at Koyambedu, Kodungaiyur, Nesapakkam and Perungudi – based on the reverse osmosis method, like in Singapore.
