ECMO used successfully as bridge while patient was waiting for lung transplants Apollo Hospitals has given a new lease of life to most number of patients using ECMO machine, including India's longest patient on ECMO for 46 days prior to a successful transplant Chennai, October 8, 2020: The Apollo Hospitals Group today demonstrated its leadership in the field of organ transplants with the announcement of the first Double Lung Transplant during the COVID pandemic in India. The patient was a 39-year-old whose lung condition deteriorated significantly in the months before the transplant when the country was in lockdown due to the pandemic. He was put on ECMO or Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation to support his heart and lungs till donor lungs were available. In comparison with Q2 2020, the report observed gross office leasing across these cities witnessed a strong recovery, registering  80%  growth to  0.44 mn sqm in   Q3 2020.
