Chennai, October 17, 2025: Vasan Eye Care Hospital, Chrompet, in collaboration with Shrimathi Devkunwar Nanalal Bhat Vaishnava College for Women, jointly observed World Sight Day 2025 with a powerful message on preventing vision loss and promoting safe Diwali celebrations. Over 150 college students participated in a unique Blind Walk, symbolically tying black ribbons over their eyes to raise awareness about visual impairment and the importance of eye donation. Chennai, October 16, 2025: Indian Bank reported an 11.5% year-on-year increase in net profit to ₹3,018 crore for the quarter ended September 30, up from ₹2,706 crore in the same period last year. The growth was supported by improved asset quality and lower provisioning requirements, despite only a moderate increase in income, said Binod Kumar, Managing Director of Indian Bank. Net interest income (NII) increased 6% to ₹6,551 crore, while other income grew 3% to ₹2,487 crore. Total provisions dropped significantly to ₹739 crore from ₹1,099 crore a year earlier. However, the net interest margin (NIM) narrowed to 3.23% from 3.39% amid a changing interest rate environment.
