Rela Hospital Launches Mobile Stroke Care Unit and ‘New Beginnings’ Support Group for Stroke Survivors

Chennai, October 31, 2025: Rela Hospital marked World Stroke Day by unveiling its Mobile Stroke Care Unit and “New Beginnings” Support Group for stroke survivors. The initiatives were officially launched by film director Ms. Aishwarya Rajinikanth, in the presence of Prof. Mohamed Rela, Chairman, Rela Hospital; Dr. Shankar Balakrishnan, Clinical Lead, Neurology & Neuro-Sciences; and Dr. Muralidharan Vetrivel, Cerebrovascular Neurosurgeon. The Mobile Stroke Care Unit is designed to bring emergency stroke treatment directly to patients, enabling doctors and paramedics to reach them within minutes. Equipped for on-site neurological assessment, thrombosis screening, tele-consultation with neurologists, and emergency transport coordination, the service ensures that life-saving care begins even before the patient reaches the hospital. Apollo Cancer Centres launches its first edition of ‘Winners on Wheels’ Cyclothon for awareness on Sarcoma cancer

Over 100 people including children from JS Global School, Sholinganallur and Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Mylapore participate in the event to create awareness about Sarcoma Cancer and life beyond cancer treatment . Chennai, 30th July 2022: This Sarcoma Awareness Month, Apollo Proton Cancer Centre, First & only proton beam therapy centre in South Asia & Middle east, hosted ‘Winners on Wheels’ cyclothon to spread awareness about Sarcoma cancer. This initiative was aimed to create awareness and encourage positivity about cancer treatment for a better quality of life. To shed light on how a well-treated cancer patient can lead a successful life, people volunteered to participate in the cyclothon as Apollo’s brand ambassador.
