Chennai, August 19th 2025 – In a first for India, students from rural government schools in Tamil Nadu will represent the nation at the 5th International Youth Forum at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC), Bangkok, on 21st and 22nd August 2025. This marks the first time in the country’s history that students from such backgrounds will participate in a United Nations event of this stature. This powerful milestone is part of the Student Education Expedition to the United Nations (SEEUN), organised by the Sustainable Development Council, an organisation with Special Consultative Status with the UN ECOSOC. The forum will bring together global leaders, diplomats, youth innovators, policymakers, and educators to exchange insights and strategies for achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
