Real Estate Industry Body CREDAI Seeks Balanced Approach for Pallikaranai Ramsar Zone Conservation
Chennai | July 7, 2026: Reaffirming its commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable urban development, the real estate industry body CREDAI has urged the Government to adopt a scientific, transparent and consultative approach while implementing regulations around the Pallikaranai Ramsar Site. During a press interaction with journalists, industry representatives from CREDAI expressed concern that the inclusion of an additional 550 hectares within the 1,248-hectare Ramsar Site, without clear survey number identification or completion of the statutory process, along with a uniform 1-km development freeze, has affected over one lakh patta landowners.
