Chennai, December 18, 2024: The National Institute of Siddha (NIS) achieved a historic milestone Wednesday (December 18), setting a Guinness World Record by simultaneously providing Varmam therapy to 555 individuals at the same time, with 555 Varmanis (Varmam healers) performing the therapy . This unprecedented event took place as part of a larger effort to showcase the global relevance and efficacy of Siddha medicine, particularly Varmam therapy, and to honour India's rich healthcare traditions. The event was graced by prominent dignitaries, including Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Hon'ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of AYUSH, and Thiru Ma. Subramanian, Minister of Health and Family Welfare for the Government of Tamil Nadu , who were present to preside over the occasion.
