Pilgrims, Devotees and Public not allowed on Aug 29th (Flag hoisting), Sept 7th (Car festival) & Sept 8th (Lowering of flag) days Chennai: The 49th Annual Festival of Annai Vailankanni Shrine at Besant Nagar to celebrate the birthday of Mother Mary, will commence with the Flag Hoisting on 29th of August , Saturday. Unlike in the past, this year, keeping in mind the current covid-19 pandemic situation, and obliging with the guidelines of the government the celebrations and the various festive events will be confined to the Church premises without the physical participation of the pilgrims, the faithful and the public.
