Samsung Sees Sales of Large Screen QLED 8K, QLED and UHD TVsSoar This Cricket World Cup

Indian cricket fans are upgrading to large screen TVs to watch their home team battle it out in the ongoing Cricket World Cup . Chennai, India – June 20, 2019 : In the month of May, just ahead of the World Cup, Samsung India saw sales of 55 inch and above TVs, which include the Company’s QLED TV line up and Ultra High Definition Tv line up, grow over 110% over last year. Samsung has also seen the sale of ultra-premium 75 inch and above TVs grow five times in the same period, indicating consumer preference for larger screen TVs to enjoy the World Cup. Samsung has been the market leader in TVs for the last 13 years in India. In the premium TV segment (55 inch and above) too it had a market share of 47% at the end of March 2019, which it plans to take up to 55% by this Diwali riding on the rising sales of large screen TVs.
