As a curtain-raiser to the event, a high-impact Industry Roundtable was held on October 16 at Radisson Blu, Chennai, bringing together leaders from the battery, EV, and clean energy sectors. The session explored opportunities, innovations, and challenges within India’s evolving energy storage landscape, especially Tamil Nadu’s growing role as a manufacturing powerhouse for EVs and batteries.
Key industry voices included Mr. C. Narsimhan (Raasi Group), Mr. Chethan Srinivasa (IPG Photonics), Mr. Aji Philip (Dürr India), Mr. Anil Kumar (NASH Energy), Ms. Shipra Sinha (Light Mechanics), and Mr. Rajneesh Khattar (Informa Markets), all underscoring the urgent need for domestic value chains, advanced technology integration, and global collaboration.
The discussions reinforced Tamil Nadu’s position as a frontrunner in clean mobility, supported by policy initiatives, EV infrastructure investments, and manufacturing readiness. The state contributed over 137,000 EV sales in FY2025, with plans underway for 500+ new public EV charging stations and integrated supply chains through port electrification.
TBSI 2025 will host 350+ exhibitors, 400+ brands, and participation from countries like Japan, USA, Korea, Taiwan, and China. Backed by the Department of Science & Technology and the Ministry of Heavy Industries, the event will showcase innovations across the battery value chain—from raw materials and components to full-scale energy storage systems.
Over 20,000 visitors and 100+ expert speakers are expected, with dedicated focus areas such as Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), beyond mobility solutions, and scalable innovations supporting India’s net-zero ambitions.
The Chennai roundtable served as a strategic lead-up to TBSI 2025, offering valuable insights into how regional and national efforts are converging to position India as a global leader in energy storage and sustainable mobility.
