The Indian Pharmaceutical Congress to be held in Chennai from Dec 20-22

Chennai : The 71st  edition of the Indian Pharmaceutical Congress Is set to be held in from Dec 20-22.Around 10000 delegates from the pharmaceutical Industry, academia, drug regulatory fields are expected to be taking part in the three-day annual event, which is to be held at Sri Ramachandara institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai.

The IPC organized by the Indian Pharmaceutical Congress Association (IPCA), which is an alliance of the five following organizations: Indian Pharmacy Graduates Association (IPGA). Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI),Indian Hospital Pharmacists Association (IHPA), and All India Drugs Control Officers’ Confederation (AiDCOC), with a different constituent body hosting the event each year.This year’s event will be hosted by the AIDCOC.

Ravi Uday Bhaskar, the General Secretary of the AIDCOC and the President of the 71st IPC, said in a statement “The role of drug regulators in making the Indian healthcare system, especially Indian pharmaceuticals as a global destination is well appreciated. “He added that the growth and prosperity of a nation’s healthcare depends upon the quality and efficacy of the drugs consumed by the nation, and that these, in turn, depends on the monitoring of the drug product lifecycle by the regulators.

In today’s progressively digital world, there has been an increased push this year to digitize elements of the conference. To that effect, delegate registration and technical poster presentations have been moved online completely. In addition, a pharmacy-Themed online quiz, has been included as part of the IPC for the first time ever.

This edition of the annual conference enables the exchange of ideas amongst members of the global pharmaceutical fraternity and promotes improvements in global healthcare by way of promoting innovation in genomics, target based medication, robotic surgery and biosimilars, among other scientific subgenres.
