CSIR-CSIO , the premier R&D laboratories under the Ministry of Science and Technology, GoI, partnered with Raymold Luminaires Private Limited, a Chennai based start-up India registered manufacturer, offering IoT interfaced intelligent lighting solutions to jointly develop Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation (UVGI) products and systems. The products, using short wave ultraviolet UV-C technology can effectively deactivate >99.9% of infecting viruses , including the Corona virus responsible for the present pandemic, destroy bacteria and other infection causing micro-organisms.   On 30th October, the products were launched in the august presence of Dr. Shekhar C.
