Chennai: As part of its MSME customer outreach programme, Bank of India, Chennai Zone, organised the ‘Udyami Vikas Mahotsav: Exporter/Importer Meet’. The event aimed to foster growth, innovation, and collaboration among MSMEs, exporters, and importers in the region.

The programme was held in the presence of Bank of India dignitaries, including Executive Director BOI Head office Subrat Kumar, General Manager Radha Kant Hota, General Manager Anita Mohanty, Zonal Manager Mohan Marethi, AGM Harpreet Singh, Managers Vishal Kumar Thakur, Kirtana and other bank officials.

Loan sanction letters were distributed to MSME and export customers. Interactions were held between bank officials, MSMEs, exporters, and importers, on challenges, opportunities, and solutions. Bank officials provided guidance on various financial products and services, including export-import financing, MSME loans, and other support initiatives. 

The event facilitated networking opportunities, enabling participants to explore new business prospects and partnerships.

Chennai, August 19, 2025: In a remarkable medical achievement, the multidisciplinary team at SIMS Hospital successfully treated a young IT professional suffering from Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans (DFSP), a rare and aggressive skin cancer that swiftly spreads to surrounding tissues, including muscle and bone. In the patient’s case, the cancer had severely affected his scalp and skull. The scalp is now fully covered with healthy and stable tissue. The patient will need regular follow-up for early detection of recurrence, sun protection, and good scalp hygiene. After the tumour was removed, the patient’s skull was reconstructed. Then, the scalp was repaired in stages using skin grafts ,flaps tissue expander and the final repair using a piece of tissue from the patient’s thigh. Chennai, August 22, 2025 — A recent study by the Insurance Awareness Committee (IAC-Life), conducted in collaboration with Kantar, a market research platform has identified Tamil Nadu as one of the states with a high potential for life insurance penetration. The study underscored the importance of region-specific insights in advancing life insurance penetration. It has presented data that helped understand financial preparedness and life insurance awareness across regions in India. Venkatachalam Iyer, Co-Chairperson, Insurance Awareness Committee (IAC-Life) The study pegs the southern state as one of India’s most insurance-aware and future-ready societies.
