"Through this world record attempt, we aim to place Siddha medicine in the global spotlight, inspiring confidence in its therapeutic value."
The event marked a pivotal moment in integrating traditional healthcare with modern recognition, uniting practitioners, patients, and enthusiasts under one roof. As the world increasingly turns to Indian traditional therapies like Varmam, Siddha medicine stands as a beacon of holistic and drugless healing methods, Dr. Meenakumari noted.
She added, "This event is a tribute to India's rich healthcare traditions and a step forward in showcasing the power of Siddha medicine on a global platform. Siddha Varmam therapy is a timeless healing tradition rooted in ancient wisdom. It harmonizes the body and mind through precise pressure techniques, revitalizing health naturally."
"This event is not just about a world record; it's a celebration of India's ancient healthcare heritage, offering solutions for modern-day ailments. Health is our greatest treasure, and ancient wisdom like Varmam therapy helps us protect and cherish it in natural ways."
Varmam therapy, a part of the ancient Siddha system of medicine, plays a significant role in pain management and the treatment of various acute and chronic conditions, especially those related to the brain, nervous system, bones, joints, and muscles. Its therapeutic benefits extend to treating stroke, rheumatoid arthritis, and trauma- related injuries. By stimulating vital energy points on the body, Varmam therapy promotes healing, enhances vitality, and restores balance.
National Institute of Siddha is an institute for study and research of Siddha medicine. It was established in 2005 at Tambaram, Chennai, India. It is one of the eight national institutes established across nation, for training and research in "Indian Systems of Medicine and Homeopathy education", by Department of AYUSH, Government of India. The National Institute of Siddha has been at the forefront of efforts to promote Siddha medicine, successfully operating five Siddha Covid care centers and conducting four clinical research projects during the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, a group of dedicated Siddha doctors completed a motorbike rally from Delhi to Kanyakumari, covering 3333 km in 20 days to spread awareness about Siddha medicine across India.
The latest achievement is a testament to the enduring value of Siddha medicine and a significant step in bringing India's ancient healing traditions into the modern world.
