25th October 2025 | Chennai, India – In a significant international partnership, the Madras Diabetes Research Foundation (MDRF), Chennai, the Centre for Brain Research (CBR) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, and the UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI) have come together to advance pioneering research into the complex links between diabetes and brain health. Separate Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between MDRF, CBR, and UK DRI to formalize this collaboration. Bringing together global leaders in diabetes, neuroscience, and dementia research, the initiative will explore how metabolic disorders such as diabetes contribute to cognitive decline and neurological diseases, including dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
