Chennai, December 3, 2025: Snapchat strengthened its South India focus with the launch of its flagship Snapchat Creator Connect in Chennai, marking its first major in-person gathering in the city. With 76% of local Snapchatters using Lenses to celebrate greetings and festivals, the platform continues to be central to the region’s digital culture.

The event brought together 100+ leading creators (including Sivaangi, Srimathi Chimu, and Maanasi), top agency partners (Trendloud, Oodaga, Divokey), and major publishers (Vijay TV, Behind Woods, Galatta), reinforcing Snapchat’s commitment to scaling regional talent.

Creators participated in hands-on workshops hosted by Snapchat’s Talent Partnerships team, including Snap School for storytelling and Savvy on Snap, which offers customized guidance and resources for established partners. Snapchat is also boosting creator monetization through global revenue-share and rewards programs.

Saket Jha Saurabh, Director & Head of AR & Content Partnerships, Snap Inc., said Chennai remains a powerhouse of creative innovation, and Snapchat aims to help local storytellers scale their narratives through Spotlight, Stories, AR Lenses, and creator-growth initiatives.

Adding to the buzz, viral Gen Z artist Asal Kolaar joined the event, sharing how Snapchat helps him stay connected with fans and express his authentic personality. Guests also explored advanced AR tech, Lens try-ons, and a preview of Snap’s upcoming lightweight Spectacles launching in 2026.
