Skill-Lync imparts first-hand experience in building EVs; Showcases its Inhouse Electric Vehicle Car

  • Plans to build multiple such prototypes to help its students gain practical insights into building EVs
  • The company will launch a series of masterclass videos capturing the EV building process

Chennai, 04th June 2022: Skill-Lync, India's leading engineering EdTech start-up showcased its in-house electric vehicle at its Skill-Center at Thiruvanmiyur Chennai on June 4th 2022. In line with the company’s vision of providing deep expertise to its students, it has built an in-house Electric Vehicle to help its students gain insights into the future of the automotive industry. The electric vehicle was built by a team of six in-house experts at Skill-Lync in collaboration with professionals from leading OEMs in the country.

Built over a course of 9 months and at an approximate cost of INR 5 Lakhs, the EV is made with a view to providing its students with practical knowledge of what goes behind building an Electric Vehicle.  The EV currently has a top speed of 45 kmph with a range of 40 km. It has a carrying capacity of 5 people and can reach an acceleration from zero to top speed in 6 seconds.

The company plans to launch a series of masterclass videos that will visually present the EV building process.

Sarangarajan V Iyengar, Co-founder, at Skill-Lync, said, “EVs are a major part of the global sustainable journey and there is a pronounced need for a new crop of automotive engineers that can design, develop, and test these vehicles that are built on new-age, sophisticated systems. Electric Vehicles are better for the environment and produce zero tailpipe emission compared to internal combustion engine powered vehicles. At Skill-Lync, we believe that our EV programs combined with the hands-on experience of practically observing how EVs are built will go a long way in bridging the skill gap that exists in disruptive automotive engineering today.”

The platform aims to continue building more such EV prototypes, that will be autonomous on the back of cutting-edge instrumentations and sensors. Through this practical interface, Skill-Lync aims to augment its EV and automotive programs and strengthen the knowledge offered through its coursework.

About Skill-Lync
Skill-Lync was launched in April 2015 by Suryanarayanan P and Sarangarajan V to address the lack of quality and application-based learning in the Indian undergraduate engineering education system. It is currently focused on providing students with two different models, available both online and offline:
  • 8–12-month PG program focused on providing in-depth industry-relevant technical knowledge to students along with a strong portfolio of projects that are aimed to help them get relevant jobs
  •  6-Month programs at physical Skill-Centres, where the students are provided with access to hands-on practical experience and are equipped with industry-relevant skills from the experts
