Chennai, 18 February, 2025: Apollo First Med Hospital has successfully performed replantation surgeries on multiple patients who suffered traumatic finger amputations due to various accidents. The procedures, led by expert Plastic Surgeons Dr. V. Purushothaman and Dr. Sabari Girish Ambat , have restored not only the patients' finger functionality but also their ability to resume normal daily activities. The replantation surgeries, which took several hours for each patient, involved the meticulous reattachment of severed fingers, including small fingertips. Using cutting-edge microsurgical tools and super-microsurgical techniques, the surgeons carefully reconnected bones, tendons, nerves, and blood vessels, restoring blood flow and ensuring hand functionality.
