Chennai, September
2019: Shasun Bazaar, the most awaited event of the Entrepreneurship Development
Cell of Shasun Jain College for Women will hit the college corridors on 21st
September 2019 between 8:45 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The event will be inaugurated by
Ms Veena Kumaravel, Founder, Naturals – India’s No. 1 Hair and Beauty Salon Chain.
This year’s Bazaar promises to be extravagantly exciting.
It is also aimed at
kindling the entrepreneurial skills and innovative abilities of young women and
also honing their communication, presentation, marketing and managerial skills,
giving them a true feel of being an entrepreneur and motivating them to work
towards an entrepreneurial career path.
The college provides
training through its ED cell ‘SHABASH’ and allows the students to efficiently
market the products by interacting with the public through the Shasun Bazaar
each year. The college equips students with the will to accept high level
personal and professional risk to pursue their goals. It opens new vistas to
the students and gives them an opportunity to be employers rather than
employees. Social Entrepreneurship is the main focus of ‘ENACTUS’ which is
another vertical of SHABASH.
Shasun Jain College, adopted Kaliyanoor village
near Kancheepuram where ENACTUS has been handholding a group of women through
skill training and product development. The bazaar will provide space and encouragement
to the women of Kaliyanoor and other women striving hard from the economically
deprived sector who want to prove their mettle through self and group
employment. These women groups will be identified through NGOs. The Bazaar goes
all out in showing its support towards the environment by abstaining from the
use of plastic in lines with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Shasun Bazaar is
successfully stepping into its 9th year. Emulating the previous years’ success, Shasun Bazaar expects an even bigger response
this year both from the student entrepreneurs and the public. A team of about 500 students will operate 100
stalls in our college campus with an expected food fall of over 10,000
visitors.
