Apollo Cancer Centre Celebrates ‘Rose Day’ to mark the spirit of life, love and happiness.

  • Apollo Cancer Institute has joined hands to show appreciation to the patient families and donors who have struggled together to achieve miracle cures.
Chennai, 21st Sept 2019: Apollo Cancer Centre, Teynampet observed Rose Day to spread the message that cancer is conquerable. Actor S.J Surya, Actor Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, Actor Sathish, Actor Mime Gopi, Actor Dharshan, Director Parthiban Desingu and Director Mohan Raja visited and interacted with the patients and gifted roses that marks the spirit of life, love and happiness.

Rose Day is a celebration of life for cancer patients, perpetrated in the name of Melinda Rose, a Canadian born 14-year-old, who, though herself afflicted with cancer, spent her time spreading cheer and happiness all around her.

The courage, endurance and the spirit of children who have fought valiantly against cancer is celebrated each year on Rose Day, on the 22nd of September all over the world. Cancer survivors at Apollo Cancer Institute shared experiences of their fight against cancer and elaborated on how positive attitude, will power and strong support from family, friends & society played a crucial role in their recovery.

Speaking during the occasion Dr. Revathy Raj, Senior Consultant Pediatric Hematologist, Apollo Cancer Center, Said, “Each day we are inspired by the courage and optimism that our children show during their battlebattle against cancer. We are now poised to provide not just cure but intact survival. Over 80% of childhood cancers are curable and we should be partners to give each child a chance.” 💢💢
