Mridula Shivashankar, Architect Commenting on the agreement, Nikhil Sikri, CEO & Co-Founder, Zolo said,"Our cities are growing at a much faster pace than the last decade and will continue to expand. With more and more people flocking to the cities the need for living spaces will become more severe while the living spaces themselves become smaller. Yet, according to industry estimates, thousands of housing units are unsold and lie vacant across several cities in India. This could be attributed to three big reasons which include a societal shift among the consumers who no longer have ownership as priority, mistrust that owners have of tenants and lack of innovation on the builders' part. This deadlock can be resolved by reinventing the business model."

He further added, "Co-living is one of the most viable and sustainable ways of living that we can create for the coming future. Add to that, reports state that the co-living market size across India's top 30 cities is expected to grow more than double by 2025 to $13.92 billion from current $ 6.67 billion. It is essential that all relevant parties get together now to discuss and find a way to make sure that we re-invent living for the modern consumer and cater to their needs. The session today Was to start a discussion on the same and the response today was very encouraging."
