Apollo Hospitals Launches Upskilling Initiative To Revive Family Physician Network


Chennai, 02 September 2023: In a key initiative to revive the practice of family physicians and bolster their position in the community, Apollo Hospitals, Chennai has partnered with the Academy of Family Physicians of India to launch an upskilling workshop for 100 general practitioners. This initiative has been designed to shine light on the critical role of the family physician in the diagnosis and management of ailments and referrals to specialist doctors in the healthcare network.

The three-day conference with a pre-conference workshop, held at the state-of-the-art Apollo Simulation Centre, train family physicians on the management of acute medical emergencies in the outpatient setup, conduct of normal labour with neonatal resuscitation. The conference will feature sessions on a variety of themes such as fever treatment among children, growth assessment of children, thyroid disorders among pregnant women, menstrual health, obesity management, infectious diseases and geriatric health. It will also include sessions on primary care for orthopaedic ailments and mental health. The workshop will be led by experts from a wide range of disciplines.

The workshop is on at Apollo Hospitals Vanagaram from September 2nd and 3rd, 2023.
