To celebrate 50 years anniversary of Moon Landing, Sony BBC Earth enters a unique partnership with Nehru Science Centre
- ‘8 Days: To the Moon and Back’ will be the first series to premiere at NSC as part of the partnership
National, July 17, 2019: 50 years ago, on July 20, 1969, millions
of people around the world witnessed a trio of astronauts – Neil Armstrong,
Edwin Aldrin and Michael Collin - create history, as they became the first men
to step on the moon. Sony BBC Earth,
India’s premium infotainment channel, will celebrate this historical milestone
by premiering the docu-series ‘8 Days:
To the Moon and Back’ as part of the partnership with India’s largest interactive
science centre – Nehru Science Centre.
Eight
days, three hours, 18 minutes, 35 seconds - that’s the total duration of one of
the most dangerous and magnificent space missions - Apollo 11. The docu-series
uses cutting-edge digital effects and dramatized performances to create a
stunning 21st century visual journey. Students from various schools in Mumbai
will get to witness this grand visual spectacle at Nehru Science Centre and
hear the original and candid cockpit audio files
from fifty years ago!

of Sony BBC Earth too are in for a treat as they get to watch a specially
curated line-up of 3 shows on July 20. In addition to ‘8 Days: To the Moon and Back’,there’s ‘21st
Century Race for Space’which explores the past,
present and future of space flight as the team meets the key players from NASA
and leading private space companies and ‘Wonders
of the Moon’ which explores a stunning medley of lunar delights from across
the globe.
