Speaking at the launch, Mr. Pushkar Gokhale, Executive Vice President and Business Head of the Security Solutions business of Godrej & Boyce, remarked,  The launch of the Defender Aurum Pro Class E Safe reflects our commitment to meeting the evolving security needs of jewellers in India. We have worked closely with regulators to understand and grasp industry requirements and ensure that this new Safe complies with all necessary standards. Designed to withstand contemporary threats, it also maintains a competitive price point, offering an optimal balance of security and affordability.

Through the QCO, Government of India has mandated that all the High-Security Safes manufactured as well as sold in India should necessarily have the hallmark of Quality i.e. the BIS Label. It is the responsibility of the Seller to adhere to this QCO. Customers need to be sensitised of this development and ask for a BIS labelled High Security Safe complying to the IS-550 Standard. Jewellers  often choose lower and sub-standard safes which are not certified as they find them affordable, undermining the importance of Good quality certified safes. This regulation empowers Jewellers to access high-quality Safes from all suppliers, with Godrej taking a leadership role in this initiative. This ensures that security remains a top priority throughout the process. He further adds, “We believe that as market leaders in the Safes & Vaults industry, our customers are expecting to build experiences that are differentiated. Hence, we are here today to drive awareness around the recent QCO issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry”.

With a strong focus on engineering and design led approach, Godrej has been developing a wide range of innovative solutions that unlocks value for its stakeholders. Godrej has recently introduced the SmartFog system, which instantly disorients intruders by creating a fog barrier with zero visibility, and the AccuGold Gold Purity Testing Machine, enabling jewellers to assure customers of their purity of Gold. Godrej’s security solutions portfolio caters to a diverse range of industries from homes, banking, jewellers to infrastructure, among others.

Besides adhering to the Bureau of Indian Standards, Godrej & Boyce's Security Solutions, has to its credit, a host of International Standards too, and is presently a leading exporter of Safes & Vaults Internationally. With exports to over 50 countries across the globe including Europe, Americas, South East Asia, Middle East & Africa, the company is eyeing a strong growth in our International Business”
