Chennai, October, 2024: Sukra Jewellery is proud to announce a monumental achievement: the unveiling of the World’s Largest Silver Wardrobe, which has officially been recognized by Guinness World Records. To commemorate the company’s 45 years in the silver industry, Sukra Jewellery were excited to attempt and set a world record by creating a one-of-a-kind masterpiece: ‘THE WORLD’S LARGEST SILVER WARDROBE’ at Chennai.

The event, held on 22nd October 2024, was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Smt. Durga Stalin, who unveiled ’The World’s Largest Silver Wardrobe’ recognized by Guinness World Records is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, in the presence of Mr. Nithin Kalkiraju, CEO and Head of Design of Sukra Jewellery.
Speaking about the occasion, Mr. Nithin Kalkiraju, CEO and Head of Design of Sukra Jewellery, said “We are thrilled to receive this prestigious recognition from Guinness World Records. Every aspect, from the door handle to the hinges, screws, nails, nuts and bolts, is handcrafted in 92.5% pure silver, reflecting our unparalleled expertise in silver craftsmanship. This wardrobe not only showcases the beauty and versatility of silver but also symbolizes our commitment to pushing the boundaries of design and craftsmanship.”
Standing seven feet tall, three feet wide and two feet deep, this wardrobe weighs 158.78 kilograms and is handcrafted from 92.5% silver. The design features intricate flora and fauna elements inspired by traditional Indian painting styles from around 16th & 17thCentury CE, such as Pichwai and Rajput. A striking highlight is the fascia, where a peacock gracefully perches on a branch, overlooking a vibrant meadow. Each feather is meticulously crafted to showcase exquisite detail. The sides of the wardrobe depict harmonious scenes of deer, cows, birds, and trees, creating a delightful visual experience.
The design work commenced in April 2024, followed by manufacturing from July 2024. Under the supervision of Mr. Nithin Kalkiraju, a dedicated team of twelve silversmiths completed the masterpiece in the first week of October 2024, after taking over 6900 man-hours.
