Rtn.Radhika Dhruv installed as Youngest & First Woman President of Rotary Club of Madras Cosmos


Chennai: The Rotary Club of Madras Cosmos recently celebrated a landmark event with the installation of its 33rd President, Rtn. Radhika Dhruv, who made history as the club's first woman president and its youngest president to date. The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the club’s history and was a testament to the vibrant and inclusive spirit of Rotary.

Leadership and Support
Rtn. Dr. Dhanasekar P was appointed as the Club Secretary, working alongside Rtn. Radhika Dhruv to lead the club through the upcoming year. The successful planning and execution of the event were made possible through the guidance and support of the Club Membership Chair and mentor, Rtn. Desiga Chozhan, as well as the Club Trainer, Rtn. Gnanavelan. Additionally, the steadfast support of Club Treasurer Rtn. Sathish Kumar and Rtn. Velmurugan played a crucial role in the event's success.

Introduction of Rtn. Radhika Dhruv
The introduction of Rtn. Radhika Dhruv was a heartfelt moment, presented by her husband, Mr. Jatin Sharma, and her cherished friend, Ms. Neerja Malik. Ms. Neerja Malik highlighted Radhika's genuine passion and commitment, expressing her confidence in Radhika's ability to achieve her goals for the Rotary year.

Growth and Membership
One of the standout achievements of the event was the induction of 41 new members, significantly increasing the club’s membership from 10 to 51. This remarkable 'half century' growth included the conferring of an honorary membership to Begum Seema Ahmed, further solidifying the club's commitment to inclusivity and diversity.

Highlighting the club’s commitment to sustainability, Ms. Varsha Aswani and her son, Jai Aswani, founders of the Born To Win Research Foundation Trust, introduced the "Carry Your Own Clothbag" initiative, as part of the plastic-free month campaign.

Inspirational Speeches
Nawabzada Mohammed Asif Ali emphasized the importance of diversity and inclusivity in his speech, wishing Rtn. Radhika Dhruv the very best in her endeavors. Dr. Radhakrishnan IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Cooperation, Food, and Consumer Protection, underscored the significance of consistency in achieving the club’s initiatives and expressed his confidence in Radhika's leadership. Rotary District Governor 3233, Rtn. Mahaveer Bothra, lauded the importance of strong membership and commended the dynamic and energetic leadership of the new president.
