Rotary Club of Madras honours CSR Donors | Launches 4th edition of “Timeless Legacy” History Book


Chennai, June 18, 2024: At a  well  attended meeting of Rotarians, Corporate Honchos and Hon.Consuls, The 3rd Oldest Club in India, which is in its 95th year, today launched its 4th edition of its History Book titled The Timeless Legacy. The Chief Guest Mr Arun Ram, Resident Editor, Times of India did  the honours.

In his address Mr Arun Ram said, the book is a remarkable chronicle of the RCM’s journey over 9 decades in its endeavour to serve the community. He said the book brought out in a very succinct manner the tremendous contribution made by the members and Past Presidents of this illustrious club. He complimented the author Rtn PP N K Gopinath for this outstanding work as Club historian.He wished the club many more years of effective and useful service to the society.

President Ravi Sundaresan in his welcome speech said that the Timeless Legacy is a testament to the power of the commitment of RCM’s members past and current and its impact on the community when Rotarians work together for a common cause. Ravi proudly announced that this year the club has set new bench marks in all its activities and has spent around Rs 16.80 crores in different schemes that will ultimately help the community at large and poor sections of society particularly women and children. The funds were raised from several corporates thro the CSR initiative, International grants and sponsorships.

The range of projects included Homes for the Homeless, providing Smart Vision Glasses, lake restoration, WASH program, multiple Dialysis Centres , mammogram unit in remote villages, a fully equipped Cancer detection  Clinic on wheels with a Mammogram in association with a leading Hospital, a Mobile Dental clinic with GCC, Boys Town, Rotary Nagar etc.
