Papua New Guinea's West New Britain Governor Inaugurates Youth Development and Mentoring program at KSG College, Coimbatore


  • 50,000 people could not go for higher education every year, educational institutions in India should come to Papua New Guinea, says the Governor of that country Shri Saseendran Muthuvel

Coimbatore: The West New Britain Governor of Papua New Guinea, Shri Saseendran Muthuvel today inaugurated a Youth Development and Mentoring program for higher education students at KSG College in Singhanallur area of Coimbatore. On this occasion, he and the Country's Trade Commissioner Vishnu Prabhu addressed the students.

Speaking to the media following this, Governor Shri Saseendran Muthuvel has said that since the government is the only one running education and hospitals in Papua New Guinea, if private educational institutions in India come to the country, it will be an opportunity for the people here to start a business.

India and Papua have had relations since the 80s. There is a lot of mineral wealth and agriculture. The ISRO team is coming from India to Papua on the 25th regarding the satellite. 80 thousand students come out every year after completing twelfth standard. 10 thousand go for professional studies and 10 thousand go abroad.

If private educational institutions come there, they can be given an opportunity through mutual cooperation. Indians there celebrates all indian festivals and are united in our countryTamils abroad have not forgotten their culture, he said.
