Vidya Sagar NGO conducts 4th edition of Ishwar Natrajan Boccia Tournament for Special Children


Chennai, October 6, 2023: The 4th edition of Ishwar Natrajan Boccia tournament was conducted in Vidya Sagar, Kotturpuram on 5th and 6th Oct marking the World Cerebral Palsy awareness month. There were a total of 8 teams who participated in the tournament which included students from Vidya Sagar, 2 from Vidya Sagar CBR, MCDS, Balavihar, SPASTN, NIEPMD and Anbalaya.

Mr. Sai Srinivas, a Sea Swimmer , Paralympic sports player and a person with multiple disabilities was the Chief Guest who officially inaugurated the tournament. The first had 12 nail biting matches between different teams to decide on the semi finalists.

On the second day, the semis decided the finalists. MCDS and Vidya Sagar CBR team entered the finals. On a very close call, MCDS won the tournament and Mr. Selvaraj, State Information Commissioner graced the valedictory event on Oct 6th. He also spoke on the steps taken by the Tamilnadu Government for the special children.

Ms.Poonam Natarajan, Founder Director, Vidya Sagar NGO congratulated the team for the successful completion of the tournament.  She also spoke on the activities of Vidya Sagar for empowering the special children.
