Fortis Malar Hospital organizes Walkathon on World Health Day to promote value of Holistic Wellness


Chennai, 16 April 2023: To celebrate World Health Day, Fortis Malar organized a walkathon today with the theme "Health for All". The aim of the walkathon was to raise awareness on wellness and inspire people to lead an active lifestyle to maintain good health both physically and mentally. Over 200 participants participated in the walkathon.

The walkathon started at 6:00 a.m. from Elliot’s Beach and concluded at 7:00 a.m. and covered a distance of 2 kms. Dr. Sai Ramanan. G, President - Rotary Club of Chennai Presidency, Rotary International District 3232, Mr. R Chandrasekar, Facility Director, Fortis Malar Hospital and other dignitaries from Fortis Malar Hospital were part of the walkathon.



Mr. R Chandrasekar – Facility Director, Fortis Malar Hospital, Adyar, said, "We are pleased to join WHO's 75 years commemoration of strengthening public health. For more than 30 years, Fortis Malar Hospital has offered patient-centric treatment. The recent pandemic has highlighted the value of leading a healthy and active lifestyle to maintain overall wellness. 

One of the best exercises to prevent various ailments is walking. With this event, we aim to motivate individuals to walk for atleast 30 minutes every day, even if they are unable to perform full workouts. We take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in the walkathon and inspired others to lead a healthier and more active lifestyle."
