CII Southern Region organises 14th edition of "Foodpro 2022" from 05 - 07 August 2022 at Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai

Chennai, 1st August 2022:  Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing the 14th edition of Foodpro - India’s biennial event on Food Processing, Packaging & Food Technology from 5th – 7th August 2022 at Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, Chennai.   The Government of Tamil Nadu is the Host State for Foodpro 2022.

Foodpro, an exclusive and most comprehensive Exhibition and Conference on Food Processing and Technologies will showcase the broad spectrum of opportunities, technologies, and solutions available for Food Processing and allied industries. The three-day exhibition will have over 300 domestic and international exhibitors, sectoral conferences, B2B meetings, product launches and presentations.

Thiru M R K Panneerselvam, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Govt. of Tamil Nadu will deliver the Inaugural Address on 5 August 2022 at 1000 Hrs at Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai.   Thiru R Sakkarapani, Hon’ble Minister for Food and Civil Supplies and Thiru T M Anbarasan, Hon’ble Minister for Rural Industries including Cottage & Small Industries, Govt. of Tamil Nadu will deliver special address at the Inaugural Session.

The food processing industry has been growing at an average annual growth rate of around 11.18% and the Rs. 10,900 crore outlay scheme under the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme in Food Products will only boost the growth of this industry in the coming years,” said Mr. B Thiagarajan, Chairman, CII Foodpro 2022. The newly added “Food Expo” at Foodpro 2022 will showcase wide variety of ready to eat food products from all over the world and the “Food Packaging Expo” would showcase the technological advancement in various domain of food packaging industry and on end-to-end packaging needs for the food products. In this edition, two special pavilions – Banana and Millets are being showcased added, Mr Thiagarajan. 

“Foodpro is the flagship initiative of CII in the Food Processing & Technology space which provides an ideal platform for the stakeholders to showcase the latest technology in Food Processing, Packaging, Cold Storage, Warehousing, Logistics and related sectors”, said Ms Suchitra Ella, Chairperson, CII Southern Region.  This edition will showcase Tamil Nadu’s leadership in the agriculture and food processing fields through a special pavilion by Tamil Nadu Agriculture Department, she added.

The three-day Foodpro would also feature a CEOs Panel Discussion on Unlocking Value in the Food Processing Sector addressed by Mr S Suresh, Managing Director, EID Parry Ltd; Mr M Murali, Managing Director, Sri Krishna Sweets amongst others. A Session on Recent Advances in Food Processing Technologies, Branding, & Consumer Awareness and Food safety will also be held at Foodpro 2022.   Concurrent to Foodpro, the Third edition of “ColdStoRe India” & T-Food would showcase wide range of products and services in the areas of cold storage, refrigeration besides display of traditional foods items.  Over 30 speakers will speak at the Conferences  focusing on Food Processing, Cold Storage and Traditional Foods over two days. 

At the Inaugural Session, CII will release a White Paper on “Unlocking Value in the Food Processing Sector” prepared in association with McKinsey & Company.

Around 30,000 senior personnel representing CEO's, Industry leaders & senior executives of leading manufacturers of processed & packaged foods, technology providers, Post-harvest Technology, Processing equipment manufacturers, Producer companies, food safety solutions provider, Exporters, Retail chains and Government agencies would be participating in the 3-day expo.

Display of products at the exhibition would include; Food Processing Technology & Machinery; Retailing & Vending Systems; Hotel & Kitchen Equipment; Health / Wellness  Products; Bakery Equipment, Machinery & Technology;  Ingredients, Fragrances & Flavours; Packaging Machinery & Technology; Refrigeration & Cold Chain System;  Processed & Packaged Foods, Dairy & Milk Processing Technology; Refrigerated Transportation Solutions; Ready to Eat Foods, Snack Foods Segments, Traditional Food Items including Millets.
