Chennai, May 18, 2022: Eickhoff Wind Asia Private Limited, incorporated in 2020 (CIN: U29219TN2020PTC138320) and engaged in the business of manufacturing gearboxes used in the Wind Energy business, today launched its state of the art factory in Chennai in Walajabad on the outskirts of the city. Tamil nadu was chosen for its many advantages, availability of qualified engineers, transport and port facilities etc and the support given by the TN Govt. Eickhoff is a globally operating family enterprise that has been based in Bochum since it was founded in 1864.

The company has signed a MoU with the Government of Tamil Nadu, to invest Rs 639.78 crores in India. The group plans to employ about 700 persons directly and indirectly with this investment. The Chennai factory of Eickhoff is built on a built to suit model with the Chennai based Casagrande group. Eickhoff will produce 500 gear boxes per annum and scale up when the demand increases. The Global Clients include international Wind Industry OEM’s such as Nordex, Vestas, Siemens Gamesa, GE and Enercon.
Eickhoff Group is a member of the Make in India Mittlestand program of the Embassy of India in Berlin. Since its inception in September 2015, MIIM programme has helped facilitate over 135 German Mittlestand companies with a declared investment of over 1.2 billion Euros.

Chennai, 15 October 2025: A 13-year-old boy from an economically disadvantaged background made a remarkable recovery at Madras Medical Mission (MMM) Hospital, Chennai, after facing life-threatening complications from a chronic heart condition. His condition rapidly worsened, leading to a dramatic drop in heart function, unresponsive blood pressure, kidney failure requiring dialysis, and liver congestion. A heart transplant became the only viable option. With his father working as a driver and unable to afford the high cost, financial support was arranged through MMM’s Social Works Department and a major Trust. Just as doctors considered temporary cardiac support, a donor heart from a young adult became available through TRANSTAN, far sooner than expected.
