43rd Annual Convocation Ceremony at Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA)

Chennai: Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) conducted its 43rd Annual Convocation Ceremony today at the Dr. S. Xavier Brimo Auditorium LIBA, Loyola College Campus Nungambakkam, Chennai. 

The guest of honour at the ceremony was Prof. Dr. C. Raj Kumar, Founder Vice Chancellor, O. P. Jindal Global University. Rev Fr. Francis P Xavier SJ, Rector, Loyola College Institutions and Vice Chairman LIBA Governing Council, presided over the ceremony along with Rev. Fr. Joe Arun, SJ, Director - LIBA. The ceremonial procession of the professors of LIBA elegantly walking into the hall followed by the dignitaries, marked the commencement of the solemn ceremony.

191 graduands and 2 Ph.D. Scholars attended the grand occasion to receive their certificates at the forty third convocation ceremony of LIBA.

Rev. Fr. Joe Arun, SJ, Director - LIBA, declared the convocation open and welcomed the gathering. He congratulated the graduands and reminded the attendees of the constant growth and transformation that LIBA is undergoing to provide the best education while instilling its motto, 'Excellence with Ethics'.

Addressing the graduands Res. Fr. Joe Arun, SJ, Director - LIBA, said, "Prof. Dr. C. Raj Kumar, Founder Vice Chancellor, OP Jindal Global University, who is also an alumnus of the Prestigious Loyola College Chennai delivered the Convocation address where he stressed on the fact that universities and colleges must provide an academic, learning and residential environment that consciously promotes openness to differences in ideas and orientations. He also added that Academic Freedom and Institutional Autonomy was of utmost importance and spoke about future belonging to multidisciplinary business education and Interdisciplinary Learning.

Prof. Dr. C. Raj Kumar then conferred the diplomas on 191 PGDM graduands, and Ph.D degree to two Research Scholars Rev. Fr. Joe Arun, SJ, Director of LIBA declared the ceremony closed after which students of the passing out batch shared their experiences at LIBA to conclude the evening's event.

LIBA's Placement Brochure, a Monograph consisting of Compilation of Abstracts from the Faculty Dialogues and Faculty Seminar Series and a Monograph of Beyond Management Initiatives Sessions was also released during the ceremony.

LIBA's highly acclaimed programmes in management continue to offer the best education to students inculcating in them 'Excellence with Ethics'-LIBA's motto. LIBA looks at business education differently, not just informing knowledge, but forming the character of students.
