March 12th, 2022: LIBA - Loyola Institute of Business Administration, a premier B-school since 1979, hosted the Beacon- Annual Ethics Conference 2022 and the Mother Teresa Award for Corporate Citizenship 2020-21 today at 4:30 p.m. 

LIBA's motto is to pursue Excellence with Ethics. In line with this ideal, LIBA organizes BEACON, the Annual Ethics Conference since 2007, where the greatest minds in the industry are invited to share their thoughts and experiences on varied topics surrounding Business Ethics. The theme for Beacon 2022 was MEDIA-ting Ethics, with an intent to reflect on how this powerful system of media mediates ethics and stays responsible.

Rev. Fr. Joe Arun, Director- LIBA delivered the welcome address and the concept note for the conference. Rev. Fr. Francis Xavier, Rector, Loyola College institutions oriented the students on the topic Media-ting Ethics., Mr. KT Jagannathan, Senior Financial Journalist, Mr. N. Umasankar, Advocate, Madras High Court, Mr. Nithin Chordia, Co-Founder of Cocoatrait shared their insights with their experiences in Print, TV and business with social media. The students interacted with the guest speakers and reflected on their learnings.

The Annual Ethics Conference Beacon was followed by the Mother Teresa Award Ceremony. LIBA is committed to forming men & women to Excel with Ethics imbued with a spirit of innovation, entrepreneurship and social commitment. In keeping with its social orientation, LIBA, since 1998, has been appreciating responsible corporate citizenship with the prestigious Mother Teresa Award for Corporates, whose commitment to society goes far beyond the call of their core operating strategies, to draw the attention of students, corporates and society at large.

Prof. M.J. Xavier, Professor of Marketing and Analytics, LIBA and Chair-Centre for Technology and Innovation, LIBA presented the jury report and announced the winners. Dr. Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, Chairman, Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation, Bangladesh delivered the Mother Teresa Memorial Oration and distinguished members from the corporate.

The Management, Faculty and the students of LIBA congratulates Vijivan Small Finance Bank was selected for receiving the prestigious Mother Teresa Award for Corporate Citizen 2021 -21 and City Corporation Limited received the Special Award for Corporate Citizen 2020-21. LIBA looks at business education differently, not just informing knowledge, but forming the character of students and these programs stand as an attest for the mission.
