Medicall 2021 showcased Made-in-India medical innovations and equipment

Chennai, December 2021: The 27th Edition of Medicall, Asia’s premier B2B medical equipment trade fair, medical conferences, and medical innovator awards  took place recently. Honoring the nursing community, the three-day exhibition and conference was dedicated and inaugurated by Chennai’s nurses, who were the most valuable taskforce and frontline healthcare warriors saving lives during both the waves of the Covid-19 pandemic. The inauguration was also presided by CEO Dr. S. Manivannan, who is the brain behind the concept of Medicall Expo.

The three-day event took place on the 17^th, 18^th, 19^th December to attract all the stakeholders of the medical industry.The expo was a one-stop shop for all medical and hospital needs ranging from as small as a surgical cotton roll to modern,digital high-end imaging equipment. The best feature of this expo was that the exhibitors were all from the domestic market showcasing pure Made-in-India medical products that are designed to meet the current hospital infrastructure and resource purchasing needs. This year more than 400 exhibitors,displaying about 6000 products showcased modern medical equipment to fulfill needs of the entire healthcare industry across the nation.

The event was parallelly conducting conferences on themes that were relevant to the current trends of the industry. Interactive seminars on topics ranging from digital IT initiatives to make hospitals future ready to managing the financial health of the hospitals were planned over the three days.

Medicall’s most talked about show was the Made-In-India Healthcare Innovation Awards that felicitates innovators and recognizes them for their out-of-the-box and socially relevant ideas. This year the award winners were shortlisted and awarded from about 138 entries. An eminent panel of jury members from IIT and IISc were tasked to bestow the award that can bring innovators to fore, which can bring a great value-add to the hospital industry and mainly save lives and improve patient experiences.

While talking about the 27^th edition of Medicall, Dr. S. Manivannan said, “With this edition of Medicall, we are back with the same fervour to offer a large platform that can showcase India’s finest medical equipment manufacturers and at the same time honour our frontline nursing staff who were crucial in saving innumerable lives. At the same time, Medicall’s seminar themes have been planned to enable knowledge exchange on digital healthcare, which is of pertinent need for every physician and hospital in this tech-driven world. It is my ultimate vision to help every patient receive the best of healthcare services, especially at remote parts of the country and in that journey Medicall acts as a great enabler.”
