'Innovative Degree Programme for Civil Service Aspirants Introduced at BS Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology'
Chennai, 28th July 2021: B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology announced the introduction of the B.A. Public Policy programme, a new educational program today. B.A. Public Policy programme is one that is oriented towards students who want to obtain a degree as well as prepare for the civil services by the time they graduate. It offers a new way for students who have finished their schooling to start their preparation in becoming a bureaucrat.

The B.A. Public Policy programme aims to bridge the gap between a degree and the extra time taken to prepare for the Civil Services Examination.
Present on this momentous occasion were the dignitaries from B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology; Dr. Peer Mohamed, Vice-Chancellor; Dr.A.Azad, Registrar; Dr. Raja Hussain, Additional Registrar and Mr.Ilanchezhian, Former Asst. Commandant (CRPF) and Programme Director, Public Policy. They would be accompanied by honorable guests Dr. Santhosh Babu, IAS (Retd.) (1995 Batch); Mr.V.Kamaraja, IPS (Retd.) (1987 Batch) as well as Mr. Shashikanth Senthil, IAS (Retd.) (2009 Batch).

Crescent's B.A. Public Policy programme is so beautifully crafted, adhering to the demands of UPSC,” expressed Dr. Santhosh Babu, IAS, on learning of the course. “In order to pursue this, B.A. (Public Policy) is a natural choice for you. If you have a dream of becoming an IAS officer at 22 years of age, then your preparation should start immediately after Class 12.“

Some of the features and benefits of the B.A. Public Policy programme include;
- Mentoring by serving and retired IAS/IPS/IFS officers as well as officers from the federal, state and local governments helps the students share the same perspective as that of a seasoned civil servant.
- The inclusion of NCC in the curriculum will serve to fan the flames of patriotism as well as inculcate discipline in the students that will help them further their ambitions.
- The B.A. Public Policy programme aims to provide students with the transformative opportunity to gain academic knowledge and the analytical skills that are the hallmark of every public servant.
