ASIA’S LARGEST RECORD ATTEMPT TO COMMEMORATE INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY

August 9: Chennai, Tamilnadu:
The National Youth Council of India (NYCI) has launched the ‘True and Health Workout Challenge’ to commemorate International Youth Day on 9th August 2020. This is Asia’s largest record attempt that aims to create a record of the maximum number of people performing the same workout routine through online connectivity.
The Asia Book of Records attempt will have thousands of participants from all over the country performing a 20-minute fitness workout routine simultaneously starting from 9:00 am on 9th August 2020. This is the first-ever fitness challenge that aims to bring maximum people together virtually to perform a workout routine from the comfort of their homes. The event will be inaugurated by Dr. M.S. Nagarajan, Chairman, True and Health, and is to be live-streamed. 
The pandemic has indeed taken a toll on the mental and physical health of people. This challenge comes at the right time as motivation and pushes participants to follow a healthier lifestyle; it also drives home the point of staying fit during such trying times. The registered participants were trained for performing workout routines well in advance to ensure the smooth and successful completion of the record.   

Indian film Actor Bharath Niwas and Sucheta Pal, a President’s awardee are the Goodwill ambassadors for the challenge.  Partners for the event are SRM Institutions of Science and technology, The Protean, Shri Paranjothi Yoga College, Rathinam Group of Institutions, and Sri Nachammal Vidyavani School.
