International Chess Wizard Ms.Rakshitta Ravi felicitated at Velammal Vidyalaya, Chennai

Chennai, November 1, 2019: Velammal's  Ms. Rakshitta Ravi, a 14-year-old International Woman Master who recently won the Bronze Medal at the World Youth Chess Championship 2019, was felicitated at Velammal Vidyalaya, Mel Ayanambakkam, Chennai-95 on 1st November 2019, Friday.

She was given a magnanimous welcome by the school. The golden girl also inspired the gathering by her electrifying speech. The speech motivated each and every student to aspire and shine in all areas of their interest.

A three dimensional art portrait was gifted to her and a documentary highlighting her success journey was also screened. The caliber of an individual could be unravelled by the opportunity chosen and utilized by the person; this thought has been imparted in a manner that inspired the gathering.

Chennai, February 09, 2026: Building on the global momentum around World Cancer Day, Apollo Cancer Centre, Chennai and Apollo Proton Cancer Centre have launched the ‘ZERO TO HERO’ campaign to raise awareness about Stage Zero cancer detection and its critical role in improving survival and recovery outcomes. Cancer incidence in India continues to rise sharply, with over 15 lakh new cases reported in 2024, as per ICMR–NCRP data presented in Parliament. With one in nine Indians now facing a lifetime risk of cancer, the disease has emerged as a major public health challenge. Alarmingly, over 70% of cancers in India are diagnosed at advanced stages (III or IV), when treatment becomes more complex, outcomes are poorer, and the financial burden on families is significantly higher.
