Stage attempt with 386 participants to create a new Guinness World Record
Chennai, 11th March 2019: IRIS GLAM, a
premier Training School for Models, Actors and Entertainment Professionals, in association
with Naturals - India's No.1 hair and beauty salon, made an attempt to set a
new Guinness World Record for the most number of models performing on a single
stage. The record attempt made under the title, SupeRamp - brought together
386 participants from across the country onto the ramp.
Mr. C.K. Kumaravel Co-founder of
Naturals had this to say, 'We are in a business domain that is closely
associated with beauty and glamour. We are supporting this event as it is in
close synergy with our image and objectives'.
The attempt was aimed at creating
awareness about the opportunities available for aspiring Models and Actors in
the rapidly evolving entertainment scenario. Dr. Latha A. Krishna of IRIS GLAM
was of the opinion that Chennai possessed immense potential with thousands of
individuals aspiring to be part of the 'glamour scene' and that an event of
this nature vindicated her confidence. Asia book of records was also awarded
for the maximum number of models on a single fashion show
The event which was held at
5 P.M., on Sunday, March 10 at Spencer Plaza, Chennai, was witnessed by
some of the leading stars and celebrities of the City.
In the
months leading up to the event, hundreds of participants enthusiastically
signed up for special boot camps organised on week-ends. These intensive
training sessions were intended to bring them on par with the high quality
expected from top entertainment professionals. The training included the
perfecting of their pose and poise and working together in synchronised and
choreographed moves.
On selection for the final ramp
walk, the participants worked with eminent professionals in the field of
fashion choreography including Sanjay Asrani, Karun Raman, Sunil Menon, Ganesh
Gurung and Priya Manikandan. The initiative had the support of several model
co-ordination agencies including Models Only & Crizaze.
SupeRamp was supported by several
