SRMIST organized one day seminar on
Tamizh Poetry
Chennai, March, 2019: Department of
Tamil, Faulty of Science and Humanities, SRMIST organized one day seminar on
Tamil Poetry ’Thamizh Kavidhaiyiyal’ on 19th March 2019 in Kattankulathur
campus. The seminar began with the Head of the department Dr B Jaiganesh’s
welcome address and the Dean Dr Jothikumar’s felicitation.
In this seminar, renowned Poet and
writer Kavijar Thanjavur Kavirayar, poet Ravi Subramaniyan and poet Raja
Chandrashekhar took part as special guests. They addressed the first year
students and helped in instilling the finer qualities of appreciating poetry in
their young minds. Their effective use of the medium of poetry to convert
otherwise a mundane thought into a sublime one was immensely appreciated by
all. And thus the one day seminar came to an end with its purpose achieved.
