Kauvery Hospital  Celebrates World Kidney Day By Felicitating Kidney Donors!

Chennai, 14th March, 2019: On occasion of World Kidney Day, Kauvery Hospital felicitated over 15 donors who had donated their kidneys to save the lives of a fellow being. The donors were felicitated with a special memento by Dr. Aravindan Selvaraj, Executive Director and Chief Orthopaedic Surgeon, Kauvery Hospital, in midst of their families and their loved ones.



The other dignitaries at the event were Dr. Venkita S Suresh, Group Medical Director, Dr. Iyappan, Medical Director, Dr. R Balasubramaniyam, Chief Nephrologist, Dr. Mahesh, Medical Admin and Dr. Bhuvaneswari, Senior Consultant Neurologist.


Following the felicitation ceremony, Rotary Club of Madras Temple City announced a donation of two dialysis machines for Kauvery Hospital. This will enable underprivileged patients to receive dialysis treatment at Kauvery Hospital at a concession.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Aravindan Selvaraj, Executive Director and Chief Orthopaedic Surgeon, Kauvery Hospital said“It is an absolute honour for us at Kauvery Hospital to felicitate the kidney donors for their kind act. Chronic kidney diseases (CKD) cause at least 2.4 million deaths per year and it is now the 6th fastest growing cause of death in India. We wish to create more awareness on the need for kidney donation and would like to encourage more people to come forward to donate their organs”
