CEG, Guindy 1974 batch of Engineers reunites for Golden Jubilee Celebration

Chennai, October 21, 2024: The Golden Jubilee of the 1974 engineering graduates from CEG is a remarkable milestone, reflecting not only the achievements of those engineers but also the bonds they’ve forged over the years. With around 170 attendees, it's a fantastic opportunity to reminisce about shared experiences, celebrate successes, and inspire the next generation.

The 1974 batch is a remarkable assembly of talent, excelling across various engineering disciplines—Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, and Communication. Many alumni have achieved significant success globally, becoming leading entrepreneurs and obtaining doctorates in automobile to software engineering. Their accomplishments reflect the rigorous education and collaborative spirit cultivated at CEG, as they have become successful leaders who provide employment to thousands and contribute meaningfully to society through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. One such initiative is the CEG1974 Scholarship Trust formed by professional Trustees. 

Notable alumni of the CEG1974 batch including Padma Bhushan Shri Venu Srinivasan, Shri Raj Vattikutti, and many more have made significant contributions on both national and international stages. A comprehensive list of these achievers is featured in the souvenir released today, celebrating the diverse success.

CEG1974 Alumni Souvenir was released during the event. This souvenir contains alumni contact details, family bios, articles on college reminiscences and professional achievements and information on the CEG74 Scholarship Trust, which supports underprivileged students of Anna University. 

The success of this Golden Jubilee celebration is attributed to the collective efforts of all 200 members. The Core Committee, Group Coordinator, T.S. Poornanandan, and his dedicated team—V. Krishnan, R. Kannan, T. V. Karthikeyan, S. Perumal, R. Selvamani, and G. Ramkumar—worked tirelessly to ensure the celebration's grand success.

Beyond professional accolades, this cohort is distinguished by their commitment to giving back. The alumni of the 1974 batch have also initiated a charity to support students in need, helping aspiring engineers realize their dreams. This reflects their belief in the transformative power of education and their dedication to uplifting others.
