Chennai, September 6, 2026: The Grand Teachers’ Day Celebration organised by KIND Organisation at Vepery, Chennai, concluded with great success, bringing together more than 400 participants to honour the dedication and service of educators. As part of the celebration, 140 teachers from Special Children Schools, government schools and private schools were felicitated for their invaluable contribution to shaping young lives and strengthening society.
The event served as a heartfelt tribute to teachers who, like candles, burn themselves to illuminate the lives of others. Welcoming the gathering, KIND Organisation President Shri Vimalchand Dhariwal Ji described teachers as “Nation Builders” and emphasised that they are mountains of love and care, oceans of knowledge and a universe of compassion. He particularly hailed teachers of special children as “Angels on Earth”, whose dedication and sacrifice are immeasurable.

The programme was presided over by Shri Subhash Ranka Ji, Trustee, KIND Organisation, while coordination for participating schools was led by Shri Vimalchand Dhariwal and Shri Ranjit Ji Bafna. Chief Guest Shri Ganeshananthan Geathiswaran, Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, appreciated KIND Organisation’s selfless service to the community. A booklet authored by KIND Organisation editors Shri Rajendran Chordia and Shri Chellam Devadoss was also released on the occasion.
Among the eminent guests were Prof. R.L. Godhara, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Arivudainambi, Director, Anna University, Dr. Arul Pitchai Narayanan of Arma Medical Foundations and Shri Murari Sonthalia, Correspondent, Agarwal Vidyalaya Schools.
A major highlight was the Life Achievement Award presented to Dr. Sohan Lal Ji, Chairman of Amrith Hospitals and renowned eye surgeon, in recognition of five decades of humanitarian service and an extraordinary record of 2,60,000 eye surgeries.
KIND Organisation also announced plans to soon open a dedicated clinic for special children, offering free consultations, medicines and physiotherapy support throughout the year. The initiative further reflects its commitment to compassionate community service.
