A Tamil Voice at United Nations: DAC Developers MD S Sathish Kumar Speaks on Heritage & Sustainability at WSSHW 2026

Chennai: At the Second World Summit on Sustainable Health and Well-Being 2026, Dr. Sathish Kumar Santhanam, Founder and Managing Director of DAC Developers,  brought a distinctly Tamil perspective to the global conversation on resilience, sustainability and human well-being. Speaking on “From Our Roots to Our Future: Building for Generations,” Dr.Sathish Kumar highlighted how the built environment can shape healthier, safer and more resilient communities for generations to come.

Drawing inspiration from Tamil Nadu’s remarkable heritage, Dr. Sathish Kumar Santhanam cited Kallanai, the ancient engineering marvel built for generations, as an enduring example of foresight, engineering excellence and public purpose. He also highlighted the Brihadisvara Temple, showcasing the scientific knowledge, architectural intelligence and precision that continue to inspire the world.

He recalled the timeless Tamil words “Yaadhum Oore; Yaavarum Kelir”, written by Kaniyan Pungundranar and famously invoked by former President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam during his address to the European Parliament. Meaning “Every place is our home. Everyone is our kin,” the thought reflects a universal vision of humanity, belonging and shared responsibility.

Looking ahead, Dr. Sathish Kumar Santhanam spoke about future-ready communities built around water security, clean energy, food resilience, technology, nature, affordability and human connection. He emphasised that longevity must be supported not only by healthcare, but also by the environments in which people live.

“The next leap in human longevity will not come from medicine alone. It will come from the built world we choose to create today.”
